Front Wheel + Fender
1. Position the bike the upside down
Flip the bike upside down so it is balancing on the seat and the handlebars.
2. Find your serial number! Register your bike!
Locate the serial number on the underside of the bottom bracket.
If you have purchased Fortified Theft Protection, registering activates your membership and enables us to search for your stolen bike and ship you a replacement bike.
If you have not purchased Fortified Theft Protection, we'll still search for your stolen bike if you register.
3. Attach the Front Wheel
Unscrew the locking nuts and remove from wheel. Set aside in bowl.
Remove disposable plastic fork spacer.
Place the front wheel axle into the fork while guiding the disc straight into the opening in between the brake pads.
Ensure that the wheel is fully inserted into the bottom of the fork (the dropouts) and that the disc is centered in the brake caliper.
4. Unbox fenders and begin installation
Unbox your Qbicle fenders and identify the parts.
Use Allen key to loosen bolt on fender mount.
Rotate rod clamp as demonstrated in the video.
5. Insert fender rod into clamp
Insert rod into clamp.
Loosen the bolt more if the rod doesn't fit the first time.
Hand tighten the bolt.
6. Attach fender to the rod
Unscrew the top bolt and pop out the red insert.
Place fender on top of opening in rod.
Place red insert into opening on top of fender.
Place bolt through the red insert and the fender.
Screw top of rod onto the bolt.
7. Add black three-pointed piece to bottom of one fender
Remove place-holder bolt.
Place three-pointed piece with the indented side facing away from the fender.
Screw in bolt.
Do not repeat on second fender as it does not fit on the rear of the bike.
8. Attach fender to front wheel and hand tighten bolts
Mount the fender over the axle of the bike on the chain side.
Align the fender so it sits between the tire and the tube with the Fortified logo.
Hand tighten hex nut (not security screw) on the axle to secure the fender on the bike.
Hand tighten locking nut on the non-fender side of the wheel.
Repeat on the rear of the bike. It should look like the picture on the left if done correctly.
9. Align fenders with wheel
The fenders adjust in two places.
Adjusting the top bolt allows you to rotate the plastic part of the fender in two directions.
Use this as necessary to create even distance between fender and tire at all points and ensure that the fender is in parallel with the tire.
Adjust the side bolt to center the fender over the tire.
Align and tighten all bolts on both fenders before continuing to the next step.
10. Align both wheel locks with the interior cutouts
To fully tighten the hex nuts and wheel locking nuts on the front and rear wheels, follow the rest of the instructions on this page.
Rotate the outer layer of the wheel locking nut so that the cutouts align.
11. Start to tighten the locking nut with the locking nut key on both sides
Place the wheel locking key in alignment with the cutouts.
Twist the locking nut key clockwise with your hand until snug.
Make sure to tighten both sides.
Tighten hex nut on opposite side an equal amount with 15mm open end wrench.
12. Use 6mm Allen Key with locking nut key to achieve final tightness
Place 6mm allen key into opening of the locking nut key.
Use Allen Key to rotate locking nut key to complete tightness.
For safety, you need to apply quite a bit of torque to ensure the Delta KnoxNut wheel locks are tight enough.
Use 15mm open end wrench to tighten hex nut on opposite side to complete tightness.
